What Are Invisalign® Clear Aligners?
Invisalign® is a series of custom-made, clear aligners that gradually move your teeth into their ideal positions. Unlike traditional braces, Invisalign trays are removable, virtually invisible, and designed to be comfortable.
Each aligner is crafted to fit your teeth and gently guide them through each stage of treatment. As treatment progresses, you will switch to a new set of aligners approximately every one to two weeks.
Why Choose Invisalign®
- Discreet: Clear aligners are designed to be subtle and discreet, making them a popular option for professionals, students, and adults who want a more natural-looking treatment.
- Comfortable: Smooth plastic aligners eliminate the brackets and wires associated with traditional braces, reducing irritation and improving comfort.
- Removable: You can remove your aligners when eating, drinking, brushing, and flossing, making it easier to keep up your regular oral hygiene habits.
- Custom-fit: Your Invisalign® treatment is customized specifically for you using advanced digital scanning technology for precision and comfort.
Invisalign Is About More Than Straight Teeth
A straighter smile may be what you notice first, but thoughtful Invisalign® treatment considers much more than appearance.
Dr. Lori Babineau has more than 15 years of experience with clear aligner therapy and uses Invisalign to help improve tooth alignment, bite function, gum health, and the overall balance of a smile. As an Invisalign-certified dentist and member of the American Academy of Clear Aligners, she continues to pursue advanced education in clear aligner treatment and carefully plans each case around the individual patient. The goal isn’t simply straighter teeth. It’s a smile that looks beautiful, feels comfortable, and supports your long-term oral health.

- Crowded or crooked teeth
- Gaps and spacing between teeth
- Overbites
- Underbites
- Certain other bite and alignment concerns

Frequently Asked Questions About Invisalign®
Every Invisalign case is different, so treatment time depends on your current tooth alignment, bite, and the movements needed to reach your treatment goals. After evaluating your smile and completing your digital scan, Dr. Lori can give you a more personalized estimate of what your treatment may involve.
Invisalign aligners should generally be worn for 20 to 22 hours each day. You’ll remove them to eat, drink anything other than water, brush, and floss. Consistent wear is important for keeping your treatment progressing as planned.
Invisalign can address certain overbites, underbites, crowding, spacing, and other alignment concerns. Whether clear aligners can effectively treat your specific bite depends on the type and complexity of the problem, which is why an evaluation is an important first step.
No, While Invisalign can noticeably improve the appearance of your smile, properly aligning the teeth and bite can also support function, oral hygiene, and long-term oral health. Dr. Lori considers both the appearance and health of your smile when planning Invisalign treatment.
There is no specific upper age limit for Invisalign. Many adults choose clear aligners because they want to improve their smile or address shifting teeth without traditional braces. Healthy teeth and gums and the type of tooth movement needed are more important considerations than age.
You’ll have periodic progress visits so Dr. Lori can make sure your teeth are moving according to plan. The frequency of these appointments depends on your individual treatment plan and progress.
After your Invisalign treatment is complete, retainers are typically used to help maintain your new tooth positions. Dr. Lori will provide instructions for wearing and caring for your retainers based on your individual needs.
